I didn't catch the performance but Ranil had captured it on video. When I saw it, I was compleatly blown away.

I was wondering: are you still looking for people to jam with? I am too and I'd love to start playing with people from now on. Instrument is the guitar, but I'd love to have a go on drums.

Anyways, just mail me: poetlost@gmail.com

Music taste is towards: jazz fusion, progressive rock, black, doom and death metal, fusion, alternative.

Let me. What ...Looks like I missed some good performances !

What you say is definitely true, if bands want to really make it they have to come up with more original music and even then, they have to do it differently because no one wants another rock band. We already have about 30 bands if you actually close your eyes and listen to them you might be able to distinguish because they all sound the same ! Its important to sound unique and not join the bandwagon.

So many bands over here in India that are big have their own unique sound, and sound that one can identify with India and its culture. It could be rock fused with classical music like the band Indian Ocean or jazz, electronica, local beats like LP, but what matters is making it your own unique sound. Thats how the crowd begins to appreciate musicians and attract true music lovers.

Nice work Confabee keep it up =)Iromihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03961126459853059895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8504821751161523371.post-9860432817107344012007-02-27T17:31:00.000+05:302007-02-27T17:31:00.000+05:30i don't know if metal is your taste, but seeing St...i don't know if metal is your taste, but seeing Stigmata at a Rock Saturday is about your best bet in Sri Lanka of seeing good quality, original rock.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8504821751161523371.post-46337957319586816212007-02-27T15:58:00.000+05:302007-02-27T15:58:00.000+05:30confab ur definitely gonna continue with this...ca...confab ur definitely gonna continue with this...cause the sl music scene is in a weird way a dog eat dog world( as in any country) but i think there are 2 factors contributing to this...

one- A musician in sl could think that his/her audience might like to listen to "known stuff" a.k.a covers, and he could make his quick buck...but what sl musicians fail to do is to be DIFFERENT( this could come out of the culture we live with)
However much criticsms u get, i beleive the best way to the top is the actually get your knees dirty and overcome any obstacle.

The second problem lies in the audience...a fellow sl-ite music fan would love to see another musician going down..regardless of genre or even if the artists is pretty ok. its only a handful of concert go-ers that are quite liberal. It happened at TNL Onstage where a group of teeny boppers just wanted to be loud and kepty booing the solo artist on stage when he was actually quite good.definitely shows that the only reason they were there was to cheer on someone known.

yep i do agree, we still are waiting for the WOW!
cheers!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
